This elegant one bedroom apartment is located in rue du Ponceau, a small street in the 2nd arrondissement just a few minutes walk from Montorgueil market. On the first floor, the apartment has been tastefully renovated with high quality fittings and furniture to ensure a comfortable and modern retreat during your vacation in Paris. The lounge room has two large windows, high ceilings with a chandelier and dark wooden floors. The furniture includes a settee that converts into a comfortable double bed (140cm wide), two glass coffee tables on a thick rug, a large ornate mirror and a halogen lamp. The adjoining modern kitchen is lit by a large window in the day and spotlights by night and is fully equipped with: an oven, a microwave, 2 vitro-ceramic hotplates, a refrigerator with a small freezer, a dishwasher, a coffee maker, an electric kettle and a toaster. Everything you need to prepare delicious dishes using fresh produce from the nearby market at Montorgueil! The spacious bedroom has a window looking on a courtyard, a sumptuous carpet and built in wardrobes with sliding mirrored doors. There is a double bed (140cm wide), two bedside tables, and an armchair. NEIGHBORHOOD Centrally located not far from Motorgueil market, the apartment is on the edge of the old red light district of Paris. So dont be surprised if there is a slight atmosphere of « Irma la Douce » (the 1963 comedy starring Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLaine, directed by Billy Wilder) floating in the air, despite the numerous cafés and restaurants as well as the primary school at the end of the street that proves this is a safe area. The nearby pedestrian market at Montorgueil has a village atmosphere with numerous food shops and restaurants that will delight lovers of fine food. Within 5 to 10 minutes walk is the Pompidou as well as the Marais with its numerous museums. Also within easy walking distance are the beautiful gardens of the Palais Royal or the bustling shopping centre at Les Halles. The area abounds with cafés and restaurants with a strong local character that give it enormous charm. The Square du Temple is a peaceful place to stroll or sit in the daytime, while in the evening there are numerous Chinese restaurants in the rue des Gravilliers.
