In ancient building, with elegant little courtyard, very bright apartment, completely refurbished in 2011, with parquet and wooden beams. The apartment has 4 windows facing rue Pecquay, a very quiet little street in the Marais, a historic area of the most lively and bustling center of Paris. The furniture is all handicraft style from late 1800 - early 1900; in the kitchen there are ancient tiles. The sofa and accessories are modern. The beds are new and very comfortable. Rue Pecquay is part of the Bicycle path of the center of Paris. The nearest bicycle rental stations (Vélib) are very close to the apartment, in rue des Blancs Manteaux et in rue Rambuteau Besides using the Internet, you can also make free calls to landlines in over 100 countries (including most European countries, Canada, USA, Australia). TV, DVD, CD, MP3 player are available. The nearest metro stations are Rambuteau (line 11) and Hotel de Ville (line 1 and 11). With the subway 1 or 11, or with a 8-10-minute walk, you can reach Chatelet-Les Halles metro station, the biggest one in the center of Paris, where you can take the RER towards/from airports (Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports) or the other subway lines to all directions. The Centre Georges Pompidou (Beaubourg), the islands in the Seine, Notre-Dame, the Picasso Museum, the Musée Cognac-Jay, the Hotel Carnavalet, the house of Victor Hugo in Place des Vosges and St Paul are all within walking distance from the apartment. In 10-12 minutes you will be in front of the Louvre, the Bastille or in the Latin Quarter. The Bazar Hotel de Ville (BHV) (less than 5 minutes walk) and the Les Halles shopping mall (8-10 minutes walk) are the nearest department stores. The area is full of fine shops, but also supermarkets as well as workshops and studios. In 2 minutes you will be in the "Village St. Paul", were you can find the studios of many artists. The neighbourhood doesn't lack of small parks. With a 8-10 minute walk you can reach the park of Rue de Bretagne, in front of the market of the Enfants Rouges (the oldest market in Paris).
