The neighbourhood is very upper-class consisting mainly of restaurants on the ground floors and financial offices on the upper floors. The advantage is that there is a wide selection of restaurants at your feet during the day while at night, there is absolutely no noise from the streets.

It's located about half way between the Opera House and the Tuilleries gardens outside of the Louvre Museum. The Opera House, the Louvre and the Champs Elysées are all within walking distance.

It's proximity to three metro stations means that you can get to most places in Paris without changing trains. You have the metro lines 3, 7, 8 and 9 at the Opera as well as the RER A which takes you to La Défense. The Pyramides metro station has lines 7 and 14 and the Tuilleries metro station has the line 1 which runs along the Seine River
